Beauty Without Cruelty

June 7th, 2009 -- Posted in Grapefruit Diet | No Comments »

In today’s society with way too many fast foods available and everyone stuck in the rut of having to work long hours to make ends meet, picking up unnecessary weight can be very easily achieved. Getting overweight is either a health problem with your thyroid being over active, or just pure laziness on your behalf. A little bit of exercise daily goes a long way in life.

Diets have been formulated years ago to help overweight people lose excess weight with a strict set of rules to be followed. The grapefruit diet, which was actually used by Hollywood stars originally for them to lose weight quickly, they could eat as much as they wanted as long as they consumed at least a half a grapefruit before every meal that they ate.

The only requirements with the grapefruit diet was that you should not eat in-between meals, that you drank at least eight glasses of water daily and that you should not consume starches in your diet. It has been proven to work; basically if you followed the rules strictly for every grapefruit you would lose some weight by the fifth day.

The grapefruit diet may not sound so appealing if you are not a lover of grapefruit in any form, that bitter taste is maybe just what could put you off from doing this proven diet. Instead of having to eat the grapefruit you may have grapefruit juice instead. Well at least that will go down a lot faster, like a bitter pill that you have to swallow.

Reduction Of Water Retention

The reason for the creation of the grapefruit diet is that grapefruit contains specific enzymes that reduces insulin and does affect the blood sugar regulation in the body. By assisting and changing these two factors the body does not retain too much water. This is actually the aim of the grapefruit diet, reduction and elimination of water retention in the body.

As with any diet that is followed the grapefruit diet information would have to be carefully read, especially if you could remotely be allergic to grapefruit in any form. The grapefruit diet does work, as even the queen has been known to use it, due to the fact that she cannot resist the temptation of sweets.

The most important rule with every diet, even the simple natural grapefruit diet, is that you can only follow it for a specific amount of time, then your body would need a rest for a few days. Once this break has been given to the body, you can repeat the diet again, and so the cycle goes on until you have reached your desired weight.

Keep on Snacking with a Weight Loss Diet Menu

June 7th, 2009 -- Posted in Weight Loss Diet | No Comments »

Losing weight is a difficult but desirable goal for millions of people. However, the biggest problem that most people face isn’t that they lack motivation. No, most folks simply don’t know how to go about losing weight. Most people take the blunt approach of eating less and exercising more, but this method lacks subtlety. Taking a nuanced approach can yield much greater results. While the blunt approach is certainly much, much better than nothing, you can vastly improve the results you receive from your hard work with a weight loss diet menu, giving you great choices for meals without starving yourself.

All the Foods You Want

Weight loss diet menus are perfect for letting you eat what you want and when you want. Not only are the three basic meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) covered, but many menus also allow for morning and afternoon snacks and dessert. Taking into account all that food, you will still be able to lose weight on a full stomach! Fortunately, there are a myriad of weight loss diet menus available for both men and women, but these menus also take into account such subtleties as height, current weight, metabolic rate, and level of daily physical activity, making them truly sophisticated and personal to your own body.

Instead of just cutting back on food altogether, weight loss diet menus target different foods, cutting back on certain types of foods, as opposed to all foods. This way, you can still enjoy tons of yummy snacks. The number one problem with diet plans that most people have is that they feel as if they must starve themselves to achieve any level of success. This is systematically not the case, and starving yourself can actually be detrimental to both losing weight and your overall health. When you don’t eat enough, your body goes into “starvation mode,” where your metabolism greatly slows down to conserve energy. In starvation mode, there is a good chance you can actually gain weight, and you may end up causing a large amount of harm to your organs in the process.

One popular diet plan is the fabled grapefruit diet, but there are certainly many more besides that. Replacing some meals with grapefruits is a very effective way to lose weight, but many people simply cannot stand the taste. With weight loss diet menus, you get nearly unlimited choices for meals, and you will get more nutrition in a day, balancing different vitamins and minerals in your body. Not only will you lose weight with a weight loss diet menu, but you’ll also be healthier overall.
